Ladies and gentlemen, you know by now probably,

that two different rocket mishaps happened this week.

A rocket from the stable of rockets at SpaceX, owned by Elon Musk, didn't ace its splashdown.

And the competing rocket firm, Blue Origin, owned by Jeff Bezos, its rocket exploded in flames on the launch pad during a test in Florida.

Days before it was planned to launch internet satellites for Amazon,

also owned by Jeff Bezos.

How about that?

The company said it had experienced an anomaly during today's hotfire.

Hot fire!

That's a pre-flight procedure in which the rocket was loaded with fuel,

and its engines were fired to test systems. Blue Origins said all personnel were accounted for,

and it was investigating the incident. Multiple employees told Financial Times,

an initial assessment of the site showed severe damage to Blue Origins-only launch pad and other equipment, including a lightning tower, and transportor erector, pardon the expression, used to lift rockets into position ahead of launch.

The failure was expected to severely impact the company's launch plans this year.

Quote, very rough day, Bezos posted on X, quoting again, but we'll rebuild whatever

needs rebuilding and get back to flying. It's worth it. Unquote. Meanwhile, all of his cutbacks at the Washington Post,

which he also owns, remain in force. They won't rebuild that and get back to reporting, apparently.
