The Philadelphia Inquirer newspaper has found dangerous chemicals in the astroturf of Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia.

It has now been demolished.

But six Phillies who played on that turf died of a rare and aggressive brain cancer,

including Tug McGraw and John Vukovic.

The six players all died in their 40s or 50s, a little early.

Three times the rate of the average adult population even more alarming was their mutual

diagnosis of glialastoma.

The Phillies sold pieces of that turf in sealed four by four inches, four inch bags.

The Inquirer purchased four of those on eBay.

Samples analyzed by the two separate labs consulted by the newspaper found 16 types of dangerous chemicals in the turf, referred to as forever chemicals because they don't die.

The U.S. federal government estimates the 12,000 artificial turf fields containing Forever Chemicals

exist still right here in the good old USA.
