Hey there, BKFK kids.

Today's story is all about the saying,

Those who sleep don't catch any fish.

In this story, Gerald the Duck doesn't actually eat fish.

He wants snails. But Nolan the Gnome Knight helps him see that the saying is a metaphor. A metaphor is like a word puzzle or a

secret code. It's when we say one thing but we actually mean something totally different.

When Nolan says, those who sleep don't catch any fish, the fish aren't real fish.

The fish is a metaphor for anything good you want to get in life, like a good grade on a test,

learning to ride a bike, or in Gerald's case, finding a delicious snail breakfast.

Gerald, the duck, was without a doubt, the most magnificent duck in Snagleton.

His feathers were white as a cloud, well most of the time,

and his beak was a polished orange, and his waddle was dignified. He was also, unfortunately,
