We'll be reading from the book of Habakkuk chapter 1, verses 1 through 5.

The book of Habakkuk in the Old Testament, chapter 1, verses 1 through 5.

And I would ask that you turn there now in your Bibles, and if you're able,

please stand for the reading of today's scriptures. The book of Habakkuk, chapter 1, verses 1 through 5.

If you're in a military, Fife.

And the word of God reads,

The burden which the prophet Habakkuk saw,

O Lord, how long shall I cry and you will not hear.

Even cry out to you violence and you will not save. Verse three. Why do you show me iniquity and cause me to see trouble?

For plundering and violence are before me.

There is strife and contention arises.

Verse 4.

Therefore, the law is powerless and justice never goes forth. For the wicked surround the righteous.

Therefore perverse judgment proceeds. And in verse five, God answering,

Look among the nations and watch. Be utterly astounded, for I will work or work in your days, which you would not believe,

though it were told you.

Let's pray.

Loving Heavenly Father, we have your word before us in this time that we commit to you that you may bring forth

that truth that comes out of your entire counsel. Your counsel will stand forever and we need to hear

and understand your word and take heed to your word. So now in this sanctuary at this time,

to send your Holy Spirit upon each of us in that special and unique way that would touch our lives

as individuals and as a church, your church. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen. Please be seated.
