This week we're talking about life after trauma, separating yourself from your circumstances,

creating boundaries with others and trusting the process of recovery.

So joining me this week is Lauren Mann.

Lauren is a campaigner, podcaster and broadcaster.

She founded the platform girl versus cancer after her own breast cancer diagnosis and since

her recovery, she's continued to raise funding and awareness for the cancer community,

as well as lending her voice to other issues affecting women and mental health.

I'll be completely honest now, I just felt like no one gave a shit about me unless it was cancer.

Like, I just thought I'm cancer person, so I'm unless I talk about cancer, no one's going to care.

So for those who don't know you already, could you give us just a little bit of a backstory as to

how girl versus cancer came to be?

Well, back when I was 31, 38th, the shift, the context, I got a little bit of tick cancer, I found

a lump in my breast by accident and turned out it was in Dr. Situ Carson, I can never remember

the right name. But yeah, I got breast cancer really young and I really couldn't find people,

young people talking about it. And I really needed to see young people who were going through
