0:57.0 | Because it's something that never ends. It's always happening. It's always frightening. But it's always wonderful. |
1:02.5 | Because it's one of the ways that God makes himself known to us and transforms us and reveals himself to us. |
1:08.5 | It's actually essential to discipleship. And so we don't want to |
1:11.9 | be surprised by it because it's always going to be happening to us in different ways. And it's always |
1:16.4 | going to be scary. At the same time, it's always going to be wonderful. And it's very different |
1:20.8 | to trust Jesus in that process from remaining stuck and not going out into the deep with Jesus. |
1:29.0 | And I close this message by talking about what it looks like when we're trapped, |
1:34.5 | kind of in the shallow water in chronic anxiety. |
1:38.2 | We fight, we flee, we freeze, we talk about that. |
1:40.6 | But then we also fuse with other people. |
1:43.0 | We fixate on certain solutions. We try to |
1:46.1 | fix things and we flounder. We give up. We find ourselves addicted to food, sex, and money. |
