there's some news that just broke, and it's kind of the talk of the town right now and kind of

the Notre Dame world. It's more pertaining to the NFL, but former Notre Dame offensive

coordinator, former Alabama offensive coordinator, and the Cleveland

Brown's offensive coordinator from this past season, Tommy Reese.

Adam Schaefter tweeted out that he is a candidate and is going through the interview

process to become the Brown's next head coach, and that has sparked a lot of interesting

discussion on the message boards and the live chat right now.

It was fun to talk about to start.

There's nothing that triggers a certain group of Notre Dame fans more than something

good happening to Tommy Reese.

I, for the life of me, will not understand this, like for the life of me.

Because I don't, like, it's one thing to agree to disagree on how good he is but this notion that

Tommy Reese keeps falling upward is something I don't understand. I feel like our disdain

for Brian Kelly gets thrown on Tommy Reese because he was considered Kelly's boy.

And I said at the time in 2019, Tommy Reese should not have been

the OC in 2020. I felt he needed a year or two of seasoning under a Todd Monkin or Joe Moore had to be

the guy. He got thrust of that job too early. But there's a reason Nick Saban hired him. There's a reason

Kevin Stefansky hired him. I had somebody the other day literally called me to talk about

this and was like, oh, he got that job because of Bill Reese. And I was like, you think Nick Saban

hired Tommy Reese because of Bill Reese? What power does Bill Reese have over Nick Saban? The whole thing
