Today's book is Lateral Thinking by Edward De Bono.

And when I first heard the term lateral thinking, I thought this book was about football.

Turns out it's a lot more helpful than that and 100% more boring. And I'm David Vance.

Next week is our 100th episode special. So to make that one seem really good, today I'm going to be as

bad as possible. Lateral thinking is about shaking up your work processes so you can become more creative.

That's why when Kellan's working on a hard problem, I tickle him.

And this is the book pile.

Just to clarify, for those of you who are still listening, the subject of this book I find

incredibly interesting and useful, but the book itself is drier than an

instruction manual for a vacuum cleaner.

So I brainstormed way too many jokes for coming up with a punchline for this book is

drier than blank, which is a very like Johnny Carson joke.

The first one that I came up with was drier than Dumbledore's corpse, which is so gross.

I think the only reason I came up with it was to like hurt your feelings.

I've always just assumed the house elves go out there with lotion every day.

That is horrifying.

And that's just a little teaser of our 100th episode next week, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Parts One and Two. I think that's what the book's called.

Before we even start the book, we should define what lateral thinking is, and I want to point out

how bad he is at defining it.
