There's a house just outside the town of

Aqla Waha, Florida that stands as one of the most infamous locations in America's

gangland history. The house on the shores of Lake Weir is a tourist

attraction these days but for many years it stood empty and silent, its windows

dark and the paint peeling.

There used to be private property signs that were posted around the place,

but for a long time, it wasn't a place where most people wanted to go anyway. The porch was sagging and the wooden steps

leaned precariously to one side, but the living didn't walk there anymore. It was a place where

dark memories lingered and where death occurred in January

1935. It was at this house where the last stand of the Barker gang took place and where Ma Barker and her son Fred

battled it out with gemin before being shot to death. The violent and blood-soaked

battle occurred many decades ago but there are many who believe it's not quite over for

the spirits that still linger behind these walls.
