Hey Synophiles, this is John Roke, I'm a writer producer and host here for the outlaw nation on the

cinephiles joined by Steve Morris, I'm a filmmaker and directing instructor on the cinephiles.

Yeah, we are doing a special intro for each of these

parts because we lost recently over the last few days the great Sean

Connery at 90 years old you heard us gush about his performance in the first part if you listen to,

we listen to it again in our new intro. But coming into the second part Steve, I think another thing we can talk about is performance in the film

wasn't just the vulnerability of the softness to his character there's also still this idea

that he's so intelligent in the movie as well and this is something that Sean

Connery had rarely played Steve even you know with Robin Hood or or or or the

Rock or these other films even the untouchables he's always seen as kind of muscle or smooth

coolness or whatever but brains were never necessarily the first thing you thought about when

thought about John Connery and as we see in the second part of this movie

we see how much his intelligence is really important when he's helping Indiana

get to the Holy Grail.

Well, I might say it a little bit differently because I think they're all smart characters.

James Bond is smart. They're all intelligent.

Sure, sure, sure, sure.

It's that this character is an intellectual.

Yeah, intellectual. That's what I meant to say.

Yeah, yeah. And the thing I would say too is like, particularly as we're moving into the second half of the film,

we're really getting into just an unbelievable father-son story.

And you know, I mean, obviously you and I have talked for years now about how these father-son
