Ah, we've done it. We've arrived here, part three, the third act. For all of you who have listened to the entirety of this insane project. I thank you. You have retained

your stubs very well. But to be honest, I might be the most nervous about this installment. Third

acts are critical, and endings are massively important. We've all seen great films that

stumble in the third act and are completely undercut by a bad ending. John McTiernan clearly knew the value of a strong third act,

as he equates the third act of last action hero to that of King Kong

in this EPK that will be referenced a number of times as we go through this installment.

Okay, fine, it's great to go into the jungle and see the big monkey now,

but the story starts when a big monkey goes to New York.

Ultimately, as I look at this three and a half hour exploration of one of my very favorite movies,

as much as I do love Last Action Hero.

I think about all of the extra work that went into saving the audio and all of the additional editing, and I wonder, was it worth it?

It's the kind of thing I imagine John McTiernan thought after the brutal beating that Last Action Hero took not only at the box office, but from critics.

Was it worth it?

Was it worth investing so much time and giving Arnold Schwarzenegger so much control for this passion project?

Was it worth it to advertise the movie with a 30-foot inflatable Arnold Schwarzenegger?

Was it worth it to put the movie's name on the side of a space shuttle?

I imagine he was still thinking about that when he had dinner with Joe Lynch in Serbia,

and they talked about the film.

That's a story you'll hear in this installment,

as Joe and I try, in vain, to wrap up all of our many thoughts on Last Action Hero, knowing all the while that the ending

is so vitally important.

And that's why I would like to announce that this will be the final episode of junk food cinema.
