Hey, it's Gwem Thrush with a special version of the off message podcast pegged to the White

House Correspondence dinner, which I call a, you know, the annual soul-sucking experience from hell.

It is a, it is something, man. It has come to define Washington. I've been in Washington for about 10 years.

And the first one I was ever out was the best one.

It was the Stephen Colbert one where he totally ripped George Bush up.

And I will never forget.

It was like my first experience in D.C.

An entire table of Republican flax got up in the middle of the Colbert thing and nearly knocked us down getting out of the way. But I think my favorite anecdote from all these years at the

correspondence dinner was a couple of years ago. I don't remember exactly when, but I was, my wife

and I were walking down the escalator to go to a VIP party.

And one or two Kardashians came up behind us and tried to force their way onto the elevator

before we had gotten on.

And one of them extended, shall we say, a hip.

I think they're known for that particular part of their anatomy.

And very, very nearly knocked my wife down an entire flight of stairs.

She had to grab onto the escalator to keep from falling.

So we would have had a great lawsuit against the Kardashians.

I also, I think, if memory serves the first year, that same first year with

Colbert, I was at Newsday and I may have knocked a Jonas brother over. That was a

good experience. Well, anyway, it is a it is a weird experience. It's kind of fun. The parties

around it for those of you who aren't that familiar with it. It's kind of fun. The parties around it, for those of you who aren't
