This week we look at language and words.

Their power, importance and value in our lives, in our relationships, and in ourselves.

Human beings are distinct from other species in that they have created language

to express and to communicate their inner experiences and the stories that they tell

about themselves, about each other and about the world.

Raw experiences just sensations, perceptions, images, feelings, thoughts. But because

we have language, we can create a story.

And by creating a story,

we can create constructs, give meaning and purpose to every experience that we have.

So as soon as we give a name

to a thought or a feeling or a sensation or a perception, we convert that into the concept

or idea of an objective world. It is because of language that we have created the human

experience. Because of language we created concepts and constructs like money, Wall Street like colonialism like empires.

It's all our creation. The universe as we know it is our creation because of language.

That's why I say we are the universe, we are the human

universe. We're not the dolphin universe or a bird universe or a bat

universe or an alligator universe. we are the human universe that has also created.

Anything that you can give a name to, we have created.

Anything that we have given a name to, we have created anything that we have been given a name to we have created. This is the power of language When people ask me if we created the universe we know and none of what I see is real

then why do I care to live the best life I can. My answer is even if we are all in a dream we might as well upgrade that dream.

And so having work furniture like desks that enhance the dream we live in has purpose.
