Good morning and welcome to the Independent Republic of Mike Graham, right here on Talk Radio.

Today is the day that we may well get the answers to the questions we were asking yesterday.

Chancellor Rishi Sunak will unveil a series of plans which could include a freezing of income tax payments

and even a possibly weekly cash subsidy to keep people afloat who are running out of money.

Truth be told, there are hundreds of restaurants

up and down the country shutting their doors for the foreseeable future and many taxi drivers,

hairdressers, cafe owners and pub landlords wondering where their next paycheck is coming from

and how on earth they're going to pay their burgeoning staff who have little and less to do

with every single passing day.

We'll be hearing from Lance Foreman this morning, businessman and former MEP for the Brexit Party

and the Tories who thinks we are sleepwalking into a financial disaster that needs fixing and needs fixing right now.

We'll also be talking to Shadow Chancellor John McDonald who wants to see the government acting quicker

and acting bigger on the coronavirus crisis,

if for no other reason than to safeguard our failing economy.

Now, this is not about being critical in any way politically of the government.
