As Lancaster goes, so goes Pennsylvania. Jim, I understand you have some weather. What's it look like? Good

evening to you. Good evening, John. It's actually beautiful. We're getting about an inch of snow

today to be followed by another storm on Sunday, which will dump between four and six inches.

And I've moved here four years ago ago and this is the most meaningful snow we've had in that time.

So rather than to be something to dread, it's there's some novelty to it given to the warmth of the past four years.

I expect that storm is on the way to New England.

So watching climate in Lancaster.

Now, what's important about Lancaster, as Jim informs me, is that it's an ag culture.

Ag culture dominates Lancaster because of the Amish, of course, but also because of the fertile ground.

And ag culture has its benefits, you know, food is expensive and you can make a good profit.

But it has a negative. And one is the flu. What kind of flu, Jim?

The bird flu. I mean, the people in Pennsylvania are extremely worried about the bird flu. I don't think the general public is alarmed yet, but what we have is there's a bird, there's a flu among wild birds, and some of it has spread to cattle. And Lancaster County is the largest egg producing county in Pennsylvania,

and Pennsylvania is the fourth largest egg producer in the country.

And Lancaster County is also the biggest milk producer.

So what happened this week is in Allentown, which is only 60 miles away,

they've discovered 200 dead snow geese. They were all killed by the bird flu. Now, why that is

important is in February, just north of us in Lebanon

County at a reserve called Middle Creek, it's a reservoir, we get visited every year by between 70,000

and 100,000 snow geese.
