a look at the injury report. Who is in, who is out for both the Lakers and the Sun. Some big names that are going to be missing on both sides. But I think some really interesting subplots to this game regardless. Speaking of which, we're going to spend the bulk of the show on the eight things that I'm going to be watching for in tonight's game. Why eight specifically? That just kind of landed there, but also shout out Kobe. So we'll

uh no surprises here by the way on the injury front and front. And that's actually a very good thing.

But JJ Reddick revealed the practice yesterday that LeBron James, Marcus Sart, Max Ccleba, and Adieu Thero are all out for tonight's game.

Now, with LeBron James, even if he was fully healthy and 100% and ready to roll, I don't even know if it would be the right thing to do to play him in game one of preseason

when he is entering his age 41 season.

So LeBron's still ramping up.

It's going to be a slower ramp of I don't think it's a certainty that we see him at all in preseason.

So not as I've been talking about it for a few days now, not a surprise at

all that LeBron is out for tonight's game. I don't think it's going to matter too much for him.

I would ideally like to see him get in maybe a game, maybe two, certainly not at full pace

or anything like that, but I don't think preseason is going to matter too much for LeBron James. So he is out tonight. Marcus Smart still dealing with Achilles tendonopathy, which doesn't sound great, but based on J.G. Reddick's comments, it sounds like he should be okay by next week. So that's a good sign there. We should see Marcus Smart make his Lakers debut next week, but unfortunately we'll be out for tonight's contest. That's two, potentially two starters to at the very least, obviously rotation players. LeBron clearly a starter. We'll see about Marcus Smart. Maxi Kleba is also out dealing with a quad issue, but this also sounds just precautionary. It doesn't sound like it's anything serious, just going to take a few days,

and then he'll be good to go. Really want to get him out there and see what he looks like as a

floor spacer for the Lakers. And then Adieu Thero, again, no surprise here. We found out a media day

that he still wasn't fully 100% cleared coming back from the injury that he suffered in college.

But it does sound like he should be good by next week to get fully cleared.
