The Lakers do finish off their fifth preseason game, this time against the Dallas Maverick,

second night of a back-to-back in Las Vegas, with a rough loss.

121 to 94, the final score in this one, certainly not what we wanted to see for the Lakers.

And it's a little bit astounding.

I mean, at this point,

we almost have to be wondering about it.

Is a third quarter curse or a second half curse really real?

Because if you take a look at this,

you won't see something like this very often.

I can tell you that, or at least I

hope we don't. The score in the fourth quarter, 37 to 8, the Lakers in single digits in the fourth

quarter. Now, there's a lot of context to that where the Lakers playing any rotation players in the

fourth quarter. No, the Mavs largely weren't as well, though.

I think that's one thing we've seen kind of consistently over the preseason has been

the Lakers deep bench guys have generally not been as good as other teams deep bench guys.

That said, there were some real positives to take away from the first half.

The Lakers were up.

They had a lead at half. They put up 66 away from the first half. The Lakers were up. They had a lead

at half. They put up 66 points in the first half. They were up 66 to 53 at halftime. So a 13 point

lead at halftime turns into a 121 to 9. I mean, they almost lost by 30 and they were up by 13
