Hello, Lakers Nation. Welcome into the Lakers Nation.com podcast. My name's Trevor Lane, and it's game day. Lakers Kings. 7.30 p.m. Pacific time tonight. Final tune-up of the preseason for L.A. Hope you come hang out with us tonight. We will be live doing our play-by-play, breaking down the game, probably throwing out a few puns, taking questions and comments from the chat. I always say it, it's like a party. Come hang out. 7.30 p.m. Pacific time tonight for Lakers Kings. Then we'll have the live postgame show again right here on the Lakersnation.com YouTube channel right afterwards. By the way, speaking of the YouTube channel, if you haven't done so yet, hit the subscribe button. I looked at the stats the other day. There's a lot of people that are still not subscribed to the channel yet watch the channel all the time. If that's you and you're maybe just realizing it, hit that subscribe button. It's a great way to help out the channel. All right, let's get into this episode. Here's what we're going to do. We're going to talk a little bit about the injury report. There's actually some pretty big updates from the king's side. We're going to have to speculate a little bit on the Lakers side of things. I am recording this Thursday evening. The Lakers do have shootaround on Friday. We'll probably get a bit more detail on who's in and who's out for this game at shoot around, but have a pretty good sense of where that's going to go go anyway. So we'll kick things off with the injury report. Then I want to get into what it is that we want to see in tonight's game. Again, the final tune up, the Lakers kick off the regular season. The games count for real next week when they kick things off against the Golden State Warriors. So let's dive into it. Let's start with the

1:28.2

injury report. Now for the Lakers, we expect that everyone who's healthy is going to play. They're going

1:33.2

to treat this game as a dress rehearsal. That means they're going to run through their regular

1:37.7

rotations, their regular lineups. We'll talk a bit more about that in just a minute. But I would

1:42.3

assume that everybody who's good to go will be out there. Nobody's going to be resting for load management reasons or anything like that, which is what we've been seeing over the five previous preseason games. We've seen a number of players sit out. So that means Luca will be in. Marcus Smart will be in. The only real question marks, I think, well, we know LeBron James is out. We know Adieu Thero is out. Brony, I would assume is out. He's dealing with that ankle issue that kept him out of last game. I would assume that we keep him out of this game as well. We will see if that is for sure or not. But Maxi Kleber, you know, last we heard on him, he was playing in a stay ready game.

2:18.0

So that would suggest that he's not far away from being able to play.

2:21.6

So he's kind of a toss up right now.

2:24.1

I think you could go either way with Maxie.

2:26.5

Maybe we see him make his preseason debut in this one tonight.

2:30.4

Again, the fact that he was playing in a scrimmage, that sounds fairly promising.

2:52.2

But again, we don't know exactly what that's going to look like. Maybe we'll get more details at Laker shoot-around. But the other one is Jared Vanderbill, who did pick up a little bit of a bump. Nothing too bad got a knee right into his quad-thi area in last game against the Dallas Mavericks. He came out at halftime.

2:56.6

But I think it's important to remember that he did continue playing after suffering that injury.

3:01.8

It was clearly Bobby and a hurt. There was no question. But it wasn't like it was a non-contact injury. You weren't afraid of some sort of a muscle tear or anything like that. It was just a knee into the thigh, which is painful, but he seemed to be okay. The Lakers, for precaution reasons, just killed him out of the second half of that game. Might they hold him out of this one? I really think he's going to be fine, but if they really decide to err on the side of caution, maybe they hold him out. I don't see it. If they do,

3:25.5

I think that's going to really mess with their rotations and what we expect to see,

3:29.1

especially when we get into the starting lineup, which I'm going to talk about in just a moment.

3:32.7

So to me, Vando should play, I would think, but again, this is me just making an educated guess

3:38.9

right now because we don't have the official report just yet from the Lakers.

3:43.1

But on the Sacramento side, here's some interesting things.

3:47.7

Sacramento, Demarta Rosen is probable.

3:50.5

So he'll play.

3:51.2

He's dealing with groin soreness.

3:53.2

DeMontas Sabonis will be out with a hamstring strain.
