Unfortunately, the Lakers delivered a lump of coal to everyone's stockings by losing, finding a way to lose to the Charlotte Hornets, 134 to 133.

Absolutely brutal.

The 8 and 24, now 9 and 24 Hornets.

I said going in, this team's a bit better than their record would

suggest because they've had so many injuries. But still, this was a must win on the Lakers

schedule. This was one of the games they had to take advantage of. And they found unbelievable ways

to lose this game, including dropping the ball out of bounds on a four-on-one fast break in the

closing seconds with a chance to go up

to points. The referees did not help their cause either. I thought that was some ridiculously poor

officiating that we saw particularly in the fourth quarter. We will get into that,

but you can't blame this all on the referees. A lot of this was on the Lakers for there.
