Summary

For most of the season, the Lakers have been frustratingly unwilling to accept opportunities as they are presented. Friday, they kicked another gift horse in the mouth, suffering an embarrassing loss to a bad Nets team that had barely won over the last month. Final score, 130-112. It started off just fine, but then the Lakers lost their focus, and in the third quarter were absolutely steam rolled by Brooklyn. Give Anthony Davis (26 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, three steals, two blocks) a pass. Jarred Vanderbilt, too. Everyone else? The box score numbers might (or might not) have looked good. The performance sucked. Even the Nets noted after the game how obvious it was the Lakers came out of the locker room flat. Brooklyn certainly took advantage. After, Darvin Ham said the Lakers couldn't have any more excuses. That time was over. They have to play ball. But the tone was the same. And that comment came right after he seemed to be dishing out a lot of excuses. This is one of those pivot point games.
