we're going to hear from Ronnie Rabin from the New York Times, who is a reporter focused on maternal

fluoride in the drinking water. A really interesting and important study just came out there.

And alcohol.

And whether alcohol is a carcinogen or not, whether you should stop drinking alcohol or not,

or whether you should drink more. So we're going to try to give you the best possible guidance there.

But before we get there, I want to send all my thoughts, prayers, everything I got over to folks

out in L.A. and in California who were dealing

with these wildfires. I've got more friends that I can count. And I know we have tons of

listeners who had to evacuate the city. By this morning, there were roughly 30,000 acres of flame.

At least five people have died. More than 200,000 or without power across the Los Angeles area.

Tens of thousands of residents were ordered not to leave their homes.

More than 2,000 structures have been damaged.

And these fires are breaking out in a number of different places.

And I think one of the hardest hit areas is the Topanga Canyon area.

I was just there.

I rented a cabin in Topanga. I was just talking

about how beautiful it was. It's one of my favorite parts of this entire country. It's like a

gorgeous little pocket. This is also a place that when we're talking about Oliver Sacks,

when we did the Oliver Sacks episode where he had a in there and he was experimenting with a ton of

hallucinogenics and stuff. It's almost like a place where you're going back in time. And I'm
