TV dramaturg. A dramaturg is a researcher that gives background information on theatrical productions

and helps put dramatic work into cultural context. And a reality TV dramaturg does all that just for

reality TV, because here we consider reality TV art too. It is storytelling,

just like every other form of entertainment, and the characters and storylines we see on reality

TV aren't any different from Shakespeare or Greek mythology. They just look a little different.

And today, we are still talking about archetypes, the different types of characters you

come across in any kind of storytelling, including reality TV.

Architects are like the character blueprints that map out all the characteristics and wants

and desires of any kind of character in any kind of entertainment.

And this week, I'm super excited because

we are entering a new category of archetype. We are talking about friends, all the kinds of

friend characters that show up in reality TV and all stories. And this week we're talking about

a friend archetype that does her best to be very loyal and helpful.
