kvj cuts today is sinko KVJJ cuts. Today is Cinco de Mayo. It is a celebration of the Mexican Army's victory in 1862 over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War.

And now it's always celebrated on the 5th of May.

Now it's not really actually a big holiday in Mexico but for

Mexicans in the US it kind of has become a day for them to celebrate Mexican

culture so you know hey I'm all about it because I got Mexicans and my family and so, you know, if we can have tacos and tequila and have a good excuse to love on Mexico, then we're going to go with it.

I love it. I love a day drinking party. It's probably top five. I mean I can't think of many that beat it besides maybe like St. Patty's Day.

Yeah. It's certainly fun on 4th of July. It might be third. Cinco de Mayo is third.

It's kind of funny because I do notice and it's odd because it seems like the

Gringos have really taken it and run with it because I remember when I lived in

Fresno which is the most Mexican place that I have ever been it wasn't a big deal but

when I got to Kansas City it was huge.

I'm like, why didn't I see this so much in,

you know, you think of anywhere, it'd be Fresno

or like half the population's Mexican.
