Summary

Become a Useful Idiot for extended interviews and bonus content at http://usefulidiots.substack.com Emmy-winning writer and comedian Kurt Metzger, who wrote for Who is America? and Inside Amy Schumer, stops by to talk comedy with the Useful Idiots. We figured since August is wrapped, it’s probably time we all had a Summer Friday. So instead of talking death in Ukraine and poverty in the US, Kurt shares stories of running from Chinese cops, illegal standup comedy in Shanghai, joining (and then ditching) the Jehovah’s Witnesses, and, most importantly, how he’d look with Katie’s hair. When the Useful Idiots decide to go silly, we’re no-nonsense about it. So we also enroll in the new college major Lesbian Dance Theory, chat about stoned (and dry-diapered) President Brandon in a fighter jet, and announce a watch party for the new off-the-wall Hunter Biden movie (watch the trailer with us in the four food groups). And subscribe for the full episode, including the extended interview with Kurt Metzger on call-out culture, Youtube suppression, and whatever the hell is going on with that “robot with salmon eyes” Mark Zuckerberg. It’s all this, and more, on this week’s episode of Useful Idiots. Check it out. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

VJ Prasad and Nome Chomsky. They launched their, I guess this was the North American launch of their book, The Wooddrawal, which we had each of them on separately to talk about very good book highly recommend it.

0:33.0

And so they did a really great event at the people's forum here in New York City.

0:38.0

And you know, it's a huge accomplishment that VJ Prasad manages to make Nome Chomsky laugh.

0:45.0

Wow, there was a Chomsky chuckle.

0:47.0

Yeah, Chomsky is funny and sarcastic himself, but he doesn't laugh that much.

0:53.0

But it was a great chat. And I think it's on their website. So you guys should check it out. We can put a link to it in the description.

1:01.0

Yeah, he'd be a really tough comedy producer, you know, like the stories from Saturday Night Live where Lauren Michaels, whenever there's an addition, Lauren Michaels never laughs.

1:12.0

You know, it's kind of Chomsky kind of saying. Oh, interesting. Never laughs except for VJ Prasad. Yeah, I could have imagined how great he could have done at SNL.

1:21.0

Well, VJ did a really funny bit on our show a few weeks ago when he talked about how Jordan Peterson needs a hug.

1:27.0

Yeah, he does. That was really funny.

1:29.0

People love it. They ate it up. Make sure you become sub-sec subscribers. Useful idiots, a sub-sec.com to hear all of the gems from VJ Prasad as well as Nome Chomsky.

1:38.0

Yeah. And we're so Katie secure in our comedy that we don't mind when a guest is funnier than us.

1:44.0

No, we like it. No better challenge for us today on that front than our guest Kurt Medzker, who is a very funny comedian and writer.

1:53.0

And he'll be joining us to talk about many interesting topics in the world of comedy.

1:58.0

All right. So should we get to it to our four BBC food groups? Let's do it. All right. Let's do it. All right. So Democrats suck for Democrats suck. I got them suck. Let's see what we got here.

2:07.0

Okay, this is a good one. Hundreds of farm workers went on a 24-day march to Sacramento, which spanned 335 miles.

2:15.0

And they did that to demand that California governor Gavin Newsom support legislation that would make it easier for farm workers to cast their ballots in union elections by mail.

2:27.0

And it would also protect them from retaliation and was organized by the United Farm Workers Union. And Newsom said he would veto the legislation. And that's already great, right? That's already a great Democrat suck.

2:39.0

But what makes it even better is that he announced the veto the same day that the wine company he co-founded with the billionaire Gordon Getty announced it had just purchased a 14.5 million dollar vineyard in Napa County.
