Hi, Rebels. We have a very special treat for you today. Freestyle skier Christy Leskinen is going to share a letter she wrote to Rebels everywhere, about taking risks, working with others, and chasing her dreams.

Christy is an American freestyle skiing pioneer and a women's sports advocate.

She began her freestyle skiing journey when few other women were doing it.

With hard work and support from her friends,

Christy helped grow the sport into a global community.

Because of her passion, women's freestyle skiing is now featured in the biggest

competitions in the world, like the X Games and Olympics. And Christy gets to do what she loves.

I've loved sports since I was a little girl.

Soccer, basketball, track and field, swimming, wakeboarding, and skiing.

I played every sport I could.

I liked to play, but I really love to compete.

Working hard and winning a trophy was one of the best feelings in the world for me. But not all sports gave me the chance to do this. I grew up skiing at a small

mountain resort in Pennsylvania. Early on, I started skiing moguls, those fun bumps on the slope,

and building jumps because they were the most challenging things I could find.

At night, I dreamed of going as fast as I could and flying through the air.

When I was young, there weren't many freestyle ski teams.

If you wanted to compete in moguls, you had to do it on your own.

With the help of my parents, I started traveling to nearby mountains for competitions.

I had some success, and before long, was traveling to bigger national and even international

contests. I began winning and found a coach and a team to help me train. It seemed like I was
