Sophie Medlin is a well-recognised consultant dietitian and is the Chair for the British Dietetic Association for London. Sophie has expertise in gastrointestinal and colorectal health. I'm excited. Well, as I say, a lot to get through. So much to talk about today. But first up,

I think, firstly, I'd love to understand really, I suppose, the actual day-to-day life of a

dietitian, you know, the work that you do. I recently interviewed a GP and I asked her a

similar question, which was kind of like in this day and age, in the modern world, what does it

really like today to do your work? What kind of people do you typically see? So yeah, could you

tell us really, I suppose, what it's like to be a dietitian today? Yeah, cool. So I'm quite an unusual dietitian in the sense that most dietitians work in the

NHS. So I did seven years in the NHS and then I'm an academic for five years and now I work

completely for myself. So I do what we might call a portfolio career, which is not really a term I

particularly identify with, but I run a clinical practice. I've

got a team of 12 dietitians who, and we all specialize in very different things in terms of our
