Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

It's called to mind all those we've promised to pray for.

Since yesterday morning, I cannot get the first reading and the gospel out of my head.

In Acts Chapter 5, the High Priest intervened with all his supporters from the party of the

Sadyses and prompted by jealousy, they arrested the Apostles and had them put in prison.

And then in the Gospel of John Chapter 3,

For God sent his son into the world not to condemn the world, but so that through Him

the world might be saved. No one who believes in Him will be condemned, but whoever refuses to believe is condemned already because he has refused to believe in the name of God's only son.

On these grounds his sentence pronounced that though the light has come into the world,

man have shown they prefer darkness to the light because their deeds were evil.

And indeed everybody who does wrong hates the light and avoids it. For fear his actions should be exposed.

But the man who lives by the truth comes out into the light so that it may

be plainly seen that what he does is done in God.

Christ the Light came into the world that the High Priest and the leaders of Israel

refused to accept him because they were addicts addicted to pride, power, and jealousy, they preferred their addictions to the light and

justified it by living in the darkness of denial.

I have a deep sense that this time in which all our routines have been blown, and we are

sheltering in place, is a time used by the providence of God to put the

spotlight on ourselves to let the light of Christ enter into the dark recesses of our soul. To lead us to do a searching and fearless
