But let's begin today's meditation in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for.

As I said yesterday, I have a deep sense the providence of God wants to use this time in which much of life is shut down for a very good end.

To let the light of Christ enter into the dark recesses of our soul to do a searching and

fearless moral inventory, admit to our sins and

vices and surrender them to Jesus to be healed in the sacrament of

reconciliation. This searching and fearless moral inventory will require that you set aside enough

time without distractions to go over the entirety of your life and write down first all that is good about yourself and

thank God for these gifts.

Then write down all that is bad about you, particularly identifying grave or mortal sins, as well as your dominant

deadly vices such as pride, envy, sloth, anger, greed, gluttony, lust.

Divide your life into 10-year periods.

Then look for the sins, vices, and character defects

at the root of your unhappiness.

It is important to be fearlessly honest and thorough.
