Oh, the perils of not knowing my sin.

Oh, the sadness that comes into life for those who have not tasted the sadness of knowing their sin.

Oh, the pain that comes into the soul and the marriage and the family and the church

where we have not felt the pain of knowing our sin.

We usually don't think of sorrow over our sin as a gift, do we?

But it really is.

sight of our sin, we lose something very vital, and that loss shows up in our hearts, our homes,

our churches. This message was originally delivered at Bethlehem Baptist Church on April 1st, 2001.

What's his answer to his question?

Is the law of sin?

His answer is no.

May it never be, he says, very strong.

May it never be.

He goes further.

At the end of the paragraph, verse 12, puts it positively.

So then the law is holy and the commandment is holy and righteous and good.

Now, think about good and righteous, holy, righteous, good. The law is that.

As I pondered that Friday,
