The suspect in Charlie Kirk's murder appears to have confessed to the killing in a small

chat on the online platform Discord.

That's according to the Washington Post.

The paper cited sources and screenshots of Tyler Robinson saying he had, quote, bad news and that it was him at Utah Valley University last week.

CNN has reached out to law enforcement about the chats as well as the Utah Department of Public Safety for comment.

And those aren't the only new details being reported.

His family has collectively told investigators that he subscribed to left-wing ideology

and even more so in these last couple of years.

And he had a text message exchange, he the suspect with another individual in which he claimed

that he had an opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and he was going to do it because of his hatred for what Charlie stood for.
