I'm Danny Kelly with me today from The Athletic, James Moore and Jay Harris.

Look, I want to start with a bit of philosophy, forgive me, because of course,

there's a part of me that just wants to scream and shout and throw stones. But we all know

that sometimes in life we come across a situation where no amount of thinking about it

allows you to describe it properly. We've all seen it, you know, in academic work, in business, in personal relationship, when you get to a place where something is

happening, you want to talk about it, but you can't find the phrases and the connections

to actually get it across. I sometimes cut this down this phenomenon to saying,

at the frontiers of any kind of knowledge, at the very frontiers, language is a thing that

breaks down. And yet James and J.M. myself are paid, observers of professional football,

paid to find ways to describe what's going on.

So there's no excuse for us.

I'm happy to go first, but if not, somebody tell me we work with language,

you're grown men.
