Well, my kids and I watched the Christmas Carol two nights ago.

For their first time, we watched the Muppets version,

because I thought it would be less scary tale of Scrooge,

the ghosts can freak out children.

But in hindsight, I think it maybe wasn't scary enough.

The Muppets were a little too adorable, especially the ghost of Christmas future

was kind of a soft, cuddly, de mentor.

So by the end of it, when Ebenezer Scrooge was crying at the headstone

and repenting about it, he's wasted his life.

My children were like, what's he upset about?

I'm like, what's he upset about?

Oh, man, you've missed the whole thing.

I'm like, kids, what he's been learning, Ebenezer Scrooge,

is that he has squandered opportunities

and through his selfishness wasted his life.

And now as he contemplates the end of his life,

he realizes he has lived poorly.

And so here, contemplating the reality of his death,
