This is CBSI in the world. I'm John Batchett, the King Charles Report. King Charles III,

the Regent of the United Kingdom in the Commonwealth, who agrees a Commonwealth member as a colonial

from Australia. I am not because of unhappy conversations in the 18th century, but I can

pretend. And now I'm learning about decisions being made for the coronation of King Charles

III. Luckily to be the only coronation I will see as a grown-up in my lifetime. I was

a round for Queen Elizabeth's coronation, but I missed it at five or six or whatever I

was. But in any event, there has been decision-making in Britain by King Charles about his wife,

Camilla, becoming the queen, no longer the queen consort. Most importantly, that means she

is to wear a crown associated with Queen Mary. What about Queen Mary's crown as significant

Gregory? Well, there are a lot of things. Let's get back to this business of Queen consort.

The Queen after the coronation will still be the Queen consort because she is the consort of the

King. The King is the sovereign. And even now he's the sovereign, not the Regent of the

King, the command of those Commonwealth countries and the Dominions which recognize him. So he's

already the King. His wife, in fact, is already the Queen, but the term Queen consort was designed

by Queen Elizabeth II to basically bring Camilla in, if you like, gradually so that it wouldn't

look as though she was seeking to gain executive power. And bear in mind that this was a title,

King consort, which she denied to her own husband, Prince Philip, who was just the consort of

the sovereign. Now, coming up to the election because the Queen Camilla will be crowned alongside

the King at the coming coronation. She will have a crown of her own. And a lot of British

queens over the past century or so have had new crowns made, but King Charles doesn't want to go

into that degree of expenditure and show. So they've opted to use Queen Mary's crown. Queen Mary

was the wife of King George V who was an interesting figure, but Queen Mary of tech.
