I'm John Baxter with my colleague and friend, Gregory Coppley, who's teaching me a deal about

the Commonwealth and Great Britain and King Charles III.

I note that it's a year since the passing of Queen Elizabeth II,

and Charles is doing very well in the polling for all levels, all demographies,

not only in Britain, but in the world.

However, doing even better is his son, William, the future King of England.

Is that recognizably okay, Gregory, that the son, the heir, does better than the father?

Is that caused trouble in the royals?

No, we have to remember that in the 1930s, the Prince of Wales, who was later

King Edward VIII and a failed King, he was extremely popular around the world,

and he undertook much of the global diplomacy for the British Crown in those periods of the 30s,

visiting much of the Empire, Australia, Canada, United States, where he was enormously popular.
