Hey, what's up everyone. Now today's episode is a battle. We are battling today against

cabbage worms, especially the Peeris species. So there is the peeris rap hay and peeris brassique species of cabbage worms

now I am growing a lot of brassica's this fall I've got cabbage right now. I've got kale. I have more cabbage, more

kale, bakchoy, a bunch of these brassica's coming and wouldn't you know it, worms absolutely love Bracicas.

That is why they're named cabbage worms.

So the reason why they like to eat these specific plants is because Brasecas have a lot of glucosinolates or

glucoseides and that's what makes a cabbage worm so attracted to these freaking plants and I'll tell you I have been really

battling these the way you can tell that you're dealing with a cabbage worm

either the peeris rapeer or the peeris Brassique, is that you're going to see a white moth,

either a small or a large white moth, with a black spot in the upper right edge of the wing. That is how you know that

you're dealing with one of these bugs and man let me tell you these things are

really annoying it's hard to get rid of them with anything

but some of the more extreme measures.

Now, of course, you can get rid of these naturally

by hand picking the worms, brushing off the eggs, etc.

But if you're growing in a large garden

and you have a lot of brassicaas,

that is a ton of time and work.

It's just too much.

And the eggs are very, very small,

and the moths lay quite a bit of these eggs so it's hard to get rid of every single one.

And the only way you're really going to get rid of them forever is to disrupt the life cycle completely.
