Selena Zicco, of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, the Washington Examiner, the New York Post,

and in the New York Post, Selena introduces us to the Latin Mass, which I'd have to say

at this point, was reported extinct, but apparently it's coming back with greater

flaws. Why, Selena? Well, it wasn't officially abandoned abolished. However, it was sort

of abolished during the 1963 Vatican conference, was lasted two years. It went into 1965. The

Catholic Church had decided that the river was the sixties, that the church needed to

be more culturally in common with the parishioners. I can remember at the time because I'm old

this happening. It was quite a shock, even to a young child, to go from this very beautiful

mass. There was a lot of silence during the mass because the priest was never faced

you during mass. He always faced the Eucharist, which is the body and blood of Christ and

the Catholic religion. Everything was set in Latin. The Gregorian chants were just glorious.

You went from that to, I remember going to church and there was three guys along here

and guitars and I was like, what happened? And so for decades, it was frowned upon for

churches to still conduct the Latin mass. You had to get a special permission. That started

to ease up during John Paul. By 2007, under the Pope Benedict, who just passed away this

past weekend, he was very open to parishes being able to celebrate it. So since 2007, this
