From Independent Music Station, K-E-X-P, you're listening to In Our Headphones,

0:11.6

a podcast about the songs we just can't get enough of lately.

0:15.4

This is Lillianna Fowler, and this week I'm filling in for Evie Stokes

0:19.2

and talking with Roddy Nickpore.

0:21.7

So you brought a song to talk about today, and this was quite an interesting pick.

0:29.1

Tell us about it. What's the song?

0:30.8

So the song is the season sweet spring from the Stardew Valley Festival of Seasons, which had just come out as a recorded album this fall.

0:43.7

Right. And the trick here is, because I started listening to it, and I thought, I have never listened to this before.

0:49.4

And then I realized, oh, it's from a video game that I've never played before.

0:54.8

So this is, I will preface this, this is a totally nerd core kind of vibe in this episode today.

1:01.1

1:09.2

So, yeah, you're a farmer in like this, this small

1:12.0

town, you're a city flicker who inherited to your grandfather's farm. So you move to the small

1:16.4

town called Sardu Valley. You get to meet the like two dozen people who live there. You can even

1:20.9

date some of them if you want to. And anyways, you know, and you can go mining and whatever,

1:25.4

but then you discover some like magical traits of this town and kind of this, kind of this story arc of, like, you know, the small town versus the big, like, like, super store trying to take over a story that I think Seattle is familiar with as well.

1:40.7

And, you know, you know, you kind of get to pick a side.

1:43.4

You get to say, like, do I want to, like, support the small town efforts or do I want to go support the store and I won't spoil the game? But it's a lot, it's got, it's a lot of charm. And I think what's interesting about this game, too, I will plug that we did an interview with the game, the creator of the game, um, Eric Barone, who goes by Concerned Ape Online, about not just the

2:02.1

game, but like, he's based in Seattle, and he made the game here. He still lives in Seattle,
