Welcome to Come Out On Cut.

During the summer break, one of the things I like to do

every year is to look back on the movies that released

in the first six months of the year from January through June.

And do my top and bottom 10 films of the year.

So far, it's interesting because when you get to the end of the year,

you see how many of those are actually in my final list.

So I'm going to do that now, but just a couple of ground rules.

Firstly, as always, what I've done is I've discounted movies

that were in the award season that were kind of shown last year

as far as critics were concerned.

So things like 12 years of slag, which actually opened here this year.

I count as being last year, same for her and Dallas Buyers Club

and the Wolf of Wall Street, those kind of movies.

Also, my list isn't absolute because there are some films

that I haven't seen this year.

Because I haven't seen Calvridge.
