Hello and welcome to the Kiner Reds podcast, Volume 11, Issue 512, in which we'll be discussing the long time coming Kentucky Route

Zero. Joining me, Ryan Zhao, in issue 512 R, James Carter. Hello. Leah Hey-Doo. You know, it's funny.

If you're actually in Kentucky, the regional accent would probably make it Route Zero, but nobody ever says

that. It's true. And John Salmon. Hi. All right, Kentucky Route Zero. This is going to be a,

perhaps interesting, maybe a little bit less structured of a discussion. It's a very kind of odd,

dreamlike impressionistic type of game. And so I think up front, though,

we do want to stress that there will be spoilers discussed in this podcast, though this game is,

as I mentioned, a little bit more dreamlike an impressionistic. There still is very much

an overarching plot with characters and events and, you know, very important things to discover along the way.

The matter in which we've come to the game will probably differ more than even most games

on the Kinner Man's podcast due to this game's weird release schedule.

Yeah, we'd like to kind of reinforce the spoiler warning.

There is stuff that can be spoiled, and it is something that I think is worth experiencing

on your own.

Anyways, this game was released as we, as I mentioned in a very kind of unusual way.

It made a big splash in January of 2013 when it came onto the scene as a kind of a standalone act one, act one of

five with the idea that you pay for the package up front and then you get all of the

episodes as they come out. It was actually priced very low at the very beginning. I don't remember

whether it was through like a humbled bundle or whether it was just

priced low on the Steam storefront.

But yeah, you could get the first episode, the first act for very, very little money.

And then that would kind of carry you through for the rest of the game.
