Welcome back to the Homefront. I'm your host, Reed Gale. Today, I'm once again joined by Amy McGrath.

0:06.6

Amy is a retired Marine fighter pilot with an important perspective on national security, and the military is the first woman in the Marine Corps to fly a combat mission in an F-18. And guys, have you ever seen an F-18, it is about as cool on airplane as there is. She was on Wolf Glitzer and other programs last week talking about how Pete Hegzith

0:25.2

and Trump's military comments were called out as flag-waving patriotism that disappears

0:30.4

when it's time to stand up for democracy.

0:32.3

And I can tell you that standing up is exactly what she is doing today.

0:35.9

She is running for the United States Senate in the great state of Kentucky. Amy, welcome back. Hey, great to be with you. All right. So here you are. I don't know. 1:26.9

Kentuckians because there's so much going on right now,

1:31.0

particularly with the tariffs and health care that the folks in power, the folks in power that many Kentuckians voted for, frankly,

1:41.4

but they didn't vote for what these guys are, what they're doing.

1:45.9

And I think that is the opportunity here. And I'm somebody that's not going to run away from a

1:51.3

tough fight. Right. So obviously, Senator Mitch McConnell is retiring after about 700 years in the

1:59.3

United States Senate. He is the verifiable Methuselah of Capitol Hill.

2:04.3

And to your point about the great people of Kentucky,

2:07.5

he was the United States Senator from that state,

2:10.8

but not really for that state for decades.

2:14.2

Right, right.
