Good evening and welcome back to Zach Jackson and friends. Kenny Pickett, we hardly knew ye. Yes, it's 10 o'clock at night. Yes, that's an hour past my normal bedtime, but doing a podcast here, probably about 14 or 16 hours from the Browns finalizing their 53 man roster, although finalized comes with an asterisk.

Tuesday, 4 p.m., as we've long discussed here, is the deadline to be at 53.

Now, that's just the deadline to be at 53 temporarily because Wednesday at noon is waivers and there can be a

second wave of waivers. There will be practice squad moves. There will be vested veterans who

are released and are brought back either via the practice squad or the active roster.

And really, every year, to some extent, the roster remains fluid for three to five days.

Then next week, teams go about their regular season business.

And then, of course, at the end of every regular season week, Friday and Saturday, there is movement.

So there are still decisions that the Browns have to make probably external decisions.

I do not think the Kenny Pickett decision was an easy one.

Now, obviously, this quarterback competition did not go in the way that the Browns hoped it

would go or intended for it to go.

It went, you know, ultimately it went in the way that the Browns hoped it would go or intended for it to go. It went, you know, ultimately it went in the way that I thought it would with Joe Flacco

winning it.

But Kenny Pickett never really was competing.

Kenny Pickett on the fourth day of training camp hurt his hamstring late in practice.

It was actually a pretty good day.

He never competed in a full practice the rest of the way he'd never played in the preseason.

So now he's a Las Vegas Raider because in the preseason finale, Las Vegas lost.

It's semi-veteran backup Aiden O'Connell to a six or eight-week injury, leaving the Raiders searching,

and really leaving the Browns no choice but to make this trade.

So we're left to speculate.
