I hate to sound terribly self-important, but this could be the most important podcast you've ever listened to.

And here's why. Imagine this. Imagine we go into our next pandemic. The hospitals are overrun.

The grocery stores are shut. So you decide to drive into the woods to make the most of it.

You take your supplies, what you think you have, what you think you need, but then your child springs appendicitis upon you and you're hundreds of miles away from the nearest hospital. You have no cell service.

So you have to extract that little devil yourself. How exactly do you do it? What happens if you go

out there and out there is really

far away and you have no way of getting to a hospital and you need to do something very,

very critical and very crucial in order to save someone's life, particularly how do you take out

an appendix? If you're not a doctor, you're not a surgeon, but it's really, really necessary. That is something that has burned in my soul for quite some time. Because I know people are very capable of childbirth when they're in environments that are not birthing centers or hospitals.

I know people are able to save their limbs and save their own lives with various forms of first aid

when they fall off of giant cliffs and land places where other humans can't find them.
