Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is set to face intense scrutiny at his Senate confirmation hearing today

to become Health and Human Services Secretary. Democrats are expected to grill him over false claims

that vaccines cause autism and his conspiracy theories about government agencies and other health

policies. And Republicans are likely to seek commitments from Kennedy on abortion rights in

agriculture. It comes after his cousin, former ambassador Caroline Kennedy, urged senators to block

his confirmation. He lacks any relevant government, financial, management or medical experience.

His views on vaccines are dangerous and willfully misinformed.

These facts alone should be disqualifying.

If confirmed, Kennedy would command a budget of more than $1 trillion

to regulate food and drugs, approve

and recommend vaccines and manage health insurance programs.

Kennedy's spokesperson did not respond to CNN's request for comment.

The Federal Reserve is widely expected to hit pause on interest rate cuts today.
