If you listened to the end of Houston's morning news

Shera and Jimmy were doing an interview a very interesting interview may I say with Dan

Cogdle who is the lead attorney for

Ken Paxton, the attorney general for these last nine years that he has been harassed by the

legal system and his political opponents using it.

And unaware that they're doing that interview, I'd plan to start the show with Mitch Little, who is another lawyer on that team.

And in my experience, Mitch, when you've got a superstar lawyer like Dan Cogdell on the case, and then you got a lawyer that up until a year ago nobody knew that means you're doing all the work and he's doing all the interviews.

I don't know that I would characterize it that way but I definitely did a lot of work on that case and I learned a lot from watching what who is probably our greatest living criminal defense lawyer in Texas in Dan Cogdale.

Does he, uh, you say Cogdale, not Cogdell, I've always wondered about that.

Yeah, Cogdale, yeah, that's how I say it. I think that's how he says it.

Is his billing rate just a little higher than yours?

You know, they've criminal defense lawyers have a very different billing system.

And as close as I can tell, his billing system and as close as I can tell his billing system is to take

very large chunks of money at a time and then figure out if it was enough to

get him to where he needed to go so So our systems are a little bit different.

Well, nine years later, there's a pretrial diversion and Ken Paxton has finally been able to put all of this behind him, so whatever it cost it was well worth it.

He had a line with Jimmy and Shera that I thought was very good, making the point of how long

this trial, this this harassment of

pacts and has dragged on he said I mean good grief they've been harassing this man

for longer than the Beatles were together and that just kind of hit home.
