Hey I'm John Gore with Positive University and I am here with Kelly Masters. Kelly is a sports agent for numerous professional athletes. Kelly, tell us about

the work that you do. I think it's so fascinating and how you got into this in the first place.

Thank you. You know, I actually didn't grow up wanting to be Jerry McGuire, but that's what I do.

I was in law school actually when the movie

Jerry McGuire came out and I remember all my classmates, particularly the guys that were

playing fantasy football, they all thought oh oh, that's the dream job.

And it never really crossed my mind that that's what I would end up doing.

I've always loved sports. I was an athlete growing up, but I didn't see it as a career path.

And in law school, I actually found a niche

working with nonprofit organizations.

So while I became a litigator right out of law school

and actually was in the courtroom. My passion or my sort of sanity, if you will, was working with nonprofit organizations and it was actually in working with ministries and charities and foundations

that I started connecting with professional athletes and learning more about what that looked like and what it looked like for a family, not just a player but his entire family to transition from being an amateur athlete or college athlete to being the professional ranks and everything,

all the life changes and the huge decisions and responsibilities that come with that and I just

asked a lot of questions.

I said, well, who's doing this for you?

Who's doing that for you?

What does your agent do?

And I get asking those questions and really spending a year

praying about it and researching and digging into it.

The more it just confirmed I had found my calling.

I found where I'm supposed to be.
