Summary

Keith Mitchell is one of the true behind-the-scenes pioneers in wrestling! Keith is a longtime TV producer who helped launch video packages and ring music entrances for wrestlers. Keith got his start in World Class Wrestling with the Von Erichs in the 80s before moving on to WCW followed by TNA and ultimately landing at AEW in 2019. And after 40 years in the biz, Keith retired last week after AEW Dynamite’s New Year’s Smash. Keith tells his wrestling story from his early days in TV sports production to his first introduction to the Von Erichs and the friendship with Kerry and David that followed to his days at WCW and the night that Vince and Shane McMahon took control of the company to meeting Tony Khan and helping AEW launch on TNT.

0:26.9	Keith Mitchell who's on the show today. He is a long time wrestling producer who I actually
0:32.6	met for the first time back in WCW in 1996. He was a little producer for impact for many years
0:40.8	after WCW actually started world class wrestling with the Von Erick's back in the 80s and he helped
0:46.8	kind of launch ring music for the different wrestlers, video packages like the ones you see on a
0:54.8	weekly basis. Keith Mitchell was the first to do both of those things and so many more. Keith
1:00.3	is actually retiring after 40 years. He produced his very last wrestling show last week. AEW Dynamites
1:07.5	New Year's Smash and Jacksonville, Florida. So in celebration of his incredible and influential
1:13.3	career, he's telling us stories from many of the events and shows he produced both in the ring
1:20.0	and behind the scenes. He's explained the difference between a producer or director and a technical
1:24.2	producer of a wrestling show and why he was never interested in the last two. Keith's also
1:28.8	talking about his start in wrestling and specifically television production for wrestling,
1:33.5	how he landed at WCW would drew him to impact in TNA. He's also sharing his AEW story
1:40.8	and how he started with the very first show that happened way back in 2019 and how he came to
