All right, welcome to the Cat in Cloud podcast. This is Chris Baca. I'm by myself today. It is the

weekend before Thanksgiving. I'm going to be out of town for some family stuff. Chuck's going to be

out of town. Didn't plan ahead. So I wanted to get something going for you. And it's kind of fun to be in

here on the weekend. It's kind of fun to be by myself every

once in a while so first all we've got a few things going for the black Friday to cyber Monday

window if you listen to this podcast on a regular basis you probably know about our best friends club

initiative if you've never heard of it before, this is how it works.

We've got a handful of farmers that we work with in the best friends club.

These are people who we have committed relationships to that we've known for a long time.

And for every pound of Best Friends Club coffee, we sell.

We put a dollar into a pot and that pot goes back to the

community where the coffee comes from. And the money's been used for all kinds of things.

It's been used for fertilizer, farm improvements, farm equipment. It's been used to plant trees.

It's been used notably for hurricane relief in Honduras. There was a big hurricane a few years ago

and a lot of people's homes got destroyed. So we used some of that money to rebuild some

homes. And Damien, who is essentially our flagship Best Friends Club producer. He's the

OG member. Some of that money went to pay for his wife, Chana's gallbladder surgery.

And she's the farm manager for his farm. So we use this money for all sorts of really

rad things. And it's fresh in my mind because we're coming off of a visit from Damien himself.

He was in town, got to speak at our all staff meeting, and it was just really incredible to hear

straight from these people how the things that we're doing, the initiatives that we're

helping put into play, help them in their day-to-day lives and actually make a difference.
