Well, hello there, it's Morgan Harper Nichols here. I'm an artist and a writer, and this is a

space where I turn the lens on various topics and subjects in hopes to learn something new or see

something in a new way. Today's piece is called Keep Looking Where the Light Pours in.

So the other day I had the opportunity to be interviewed by Maggie Rodriguez on WFLA, which is a

station in Florida. And when I was in the interview, they actually did something that I had totally

forgot that I used to do. And they showed some art that I created. And then they asked me to

talk about it and talk about the story about why I made that and the story about the art itself. And that's actually

how I started this. Well, when I restarted this podcast two years ago and I decided, okay, I'm going to

seriously start this podcast. That's actually what I started with. I would go through my

Instagram feed and I would pick images that maybe other

people had to resonate it with and I would just go into a deeper dive about it. So I wanted to

actually do that today with this one image that I created called Keep Looking where the light

pours in. And they actually mentioned it on WFLA when I did this.

And it recalled a story that I think reflects a lot of the reason why I keep talking about

keep looking where the light pours in and why I write about that so much. So of course, I will

put the link in the show notes if you want to actually see the image I'm talking about. But I would definitely try to talk about this in a way that is not so image-centered

that it still makes sense, you know, even if you're not able to see it. So this image has a

bluish background with kind of a speckled starry sky.

And I love painting a night sky.

That's honestly one of my favorite things to paint

because there's just so many different creative ways

that you can throw a bunch of stars in the sky.
