The word colored is definitely a word I don't care for at all because I understand that

the history behind the word but I stand behind why why I use the word for the response

that is getting at this moment.

Covid has been very, very bad for theatre.

From ushers to lighting directors to actors there was no work for well over a year but playwrights

could still write and as theatre slowly welcome audiences back we finally get to see what

some of them have been up to.

Among the most anticipated plays of the season is the Broadway debut of Kenan Scott II's

thoughts of a colored man at the Golden Theatre.

Kenan Scott is a playwright yes but he's also a poet, an actor, a director and a producer.

He joins me to talk today about his play and his career.
