Summary

You'll have to excuse me for having too much fun on this episode as we've learned we have more subscribers than the KC Star.  This will make your day.    The Chiefs are changing more than we know this year and some of it is hidden in some changes to defensive strategy.  While everyone has copied the Chiefs, KC is moving on to reinvent.     The director of the CDC admits they blew it during Covid and Rand Paul gives a great explanation why.    The first series of polls since the Trump raid are out and it's all good news for the GOP.    And who called Liz Cheney after she got clobbered?  Joe Biden.  It's easy to see what's going on here.

You'll have to excuse the bounce in my step, the joy in my voice on this Thursday, a beautiful late summer day.

As I have read and consumed more news about the Kansas City

0:23.9

star and its fall from the very top of media in Kansas City. And we talked about this maybe

0:31.7

six or eight months ago about subscription numbers and the number of people that read the Kansas

0:35.6

City Star as it is really shot itself in the foot.

0:40.4

We've known the newspaper industry was dying and changing, certainly, but surviving.

0:46.6

And at the same time, the star decided to go hard left in a part of the country that is not hard left,

0:52.5

and it's just killing them.

0:55.6

And the glee, you from me is, I'll give you my headline here. I've sort of changed. Okay, we're coming

1:03.1

up on two years of doing this podcast. We're coming up, we're nearing two years. And in the very

1:08.8

beginning, I thought it was very important to get on other media outlets

1:11.8

and promote the podcast, get on television, do things if the star would do it, get on radio, do all

1:17.9

these other things. Any possible way I could spread the word that we were doing the podcast, I thought

1:23.4

was very, very important. The point that I missed is there are no big media outlets in

1:30.8

Kansas City anymore. They don't exist. The sports radio stations where I used to work are,

1:36.4

their audiences are one seventh, what they used to be 20 years ago, one seventh. I know this because

1:43.6

I see the numbers. We used to have 14 shares and now

1:46.3

there are two shares. That's one seventh in my book. So one seventh, the audience of what sports

1:52.4

radio was 20 years ago. It's the same thing with the star. It's the same thing with local television
